Background of Talent List

The initiative of studying the feasibility of drawing up a talent list was announced in the 2015 Report on Population Policy Strategies and Initiatives and the 2015 Policy Address, with a view to attracting quality people in a more effective and focused manner to support Hong Kong’s development into a high value added and diversified economy. With the assistance of a Consultant and after extensive consultation with the stakeholders, the Talent List with the 11 professions is drawn up. The Talent List will be updated from time to time to ensure that it would keep up with Hong Kong’s latest economic development and the changing needs for different talents.
