Shipping commercial professionals with expertise across ship sale and purchase, chartering, vessel operations, brokering, commodity and cargo trading, commercial management and analysis, freight or commodity trading, pre- and post-fixture operations, claims and demurrage. Their tasks include but are not limited to: conduct market analysis, negotiate terms and conditions and prepare documents for ship sale and purchase agreements; optimise transport operations for goods and energy along defined routes; oversee pre- and post-fixture operations in charter agreements; arrange bunker suppliers for vessels; monitoring profit and loss for all the vessels/cargoes and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
Qualification Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, law, international shipping or related disciplines;
Holders of Class 1 Certificate of Competency, with at least 2 years of sailing experience as Senior Officer (Deck or Engine) or above on sea-going ships or at equivalent responsible level in the marine industry;
Possess knowledge of international maritime law, marine insurances, shipping finance, commercial shipping, ship sale and purchase, ship brokerage or ship chartering, etc.; and
At least 5 years of relevant experience in finance, shipping or transport sector in financial institutions, shipping companies, classification societies, marine consultancy companies, P&I clubs or shipyards.
