Ship surveyors with expertise play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of vessels in the maritime industry. Their duties include but not limited to: conduct regular inspections, and evaluate vessel structures, machinery, and safety systems; issue necessary certificates; review stability calculations, load-handling procedures, and emergency response plans for vessels; approve design plans for vessel construction or modifications in accordance with regulatory compliance; investigate the causes in the event of accidents; offer valuable consultancy services to vessel owners and industry stakeholders, and contribute to the continuous improvement of maritime safety practices.
Qualification Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in marine surveying, naval architecture, marine engineering, mechanical engineering or marine operations;
Possess knowledge of related regulations, along with strong analytical and communication skills, good decision-making ability, the capability to interpret technical data and work autonomously; and
At least 5 years of relevant experience in marine surveying, naval architecture, classification societies, marine engineering or equivalent.
